Leeds United fans on Twitter are gutted to learn of the extent of Caleb Ekuban's injury which he suffered in the 2-0 win at Sunderland last month.

The timing of the striker's injury blow couldn't have been worse after he only put pen-to-paper to sign for the Whites in the summer transfer window to complete his move from Serie A side Chievo.

The sale of Chris Wood would also have seen the Ghanaian forward jump up the pecking order and have a real chance of getting an extended run of first-team football, however perhaps due to this news, Thomas Christiansen moved quick to bring in Pawel Cibicki and Pierre-Michel Lasogga last week.

Ekuban scored and supplied an assist on his debut for Leeds in the Carabao Cup win over Port Vale in August and added one further appearance against Sunderland, where he would suffer his big injury blow.

The Elland Road faithful were naturally disappointed that Ekuban may not return to action until November and made their support for the striker public on social media.

One fan even said that it was "very bad news" for the summer signing.
