Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Leeds United to not sell Helder Costa.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England striker insisted the Whites would make a significant loss on the winger if they were to cash in this summer.

Costa moved to Elland Road, initially on loan, at the beginning of last season and the deal was made permanent last summer for a £15million fee.

He has started 10 Premier League games this season with Raphinha emerging as Marcelo Bielsa's first-choice right-winger.

“They’re probably going to have to take a loss [if they sell him],” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“For me, I still rate him. I still feel he can do a job. I’d keep him, definitely.

“Bielsa will have his plans and maybe he looks at him as not good enough to continue in the side.

“Definitely, he will be sold at a [financial] loss. Any player that’s not playing much or not playing well you’re going to take a loss on. Clubs aren’t naive enough to pay big money for a player that’s not playing much.”

Costa has one Portugal cap to his name but recently switched allegiances to Angola - the country of his birth.

He was called up to the squad for the first time this month for their African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Gambia and Gabon.
