Leeds United could end up with the next Phil Foden on their hands after completing the signing of Amari Miller.

That is according to finance guru and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively after United confirmed the capture of Miller from Birmingham City on a four-year deal on 28th June.

A Leeds source told this site on 26th June that the package consists of a £200,000 basic fee rising to £1.5million with add-ons.

Alongside big-money arrivals like Rodrigo and Raphinha, Leeds have added the likes of Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt, both 19, to their ranks in the last 12 months.

Maguire hailed Leeds for their long-term strategy as they vie to catch up with the Premier League's financial elite.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: "They have spent a lot of money since getting promoted to the Premier League.

"But at the same time, they can't compete against some of the larger clubs and at the same time they don't want to because it would distort their wage structure.

"They've got to be smart and look for potential development models. We've seen with the likes of Foden that age is not an issue in terms of talent.

"If Miller is as good as people think he is, he could turn out to be a very valuable commodity going forwards.

"You're always looking to strengthen, so this signing makes sense. Also, Leeds are a very attractive proposition because young players are much more savvy than they used to be.

"He'll be thinking: 'What can Bielsa do for me?'"
