Galatasaray have offered a contract to Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt as well as agreeing a pre-contract with Leeds United star Ezgjan Alioski, Football Insider has learned.

The Turkish club are working on free transfers for both the left-sided stars ahead of the summer window.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Galatasaray have offered a pre-contract deal to Van Aantholt, 30, although he has yet to agree it or put pen to paper.

Coincidentally, Leeds have also been linked with strong interest in the Palace mainstay and this surprise twist means they could miss out.

It comes after this site revealed early on Tuesday (23rd March) that Alioski has finalised pre-contract terms with Galatasaray.

The Macedonia international, 29, has decided to quit Elland Road when his deal expires at the end of the season.

He is then set to leave England after four years to head to Galatasaray.

It remains to be seen if Van Aanholt will join the Leeds man in Turkey in the summer.

Galatasaray are not looking at the Premier League pair fighting it out for the left-back spot, as Alioski's versatility and ability to create and score higher up the pitch could see him be used in attacking roles.

At Leeds, he has been mainly used as an attacking left-back by Marcelo Bielsa in the last two seasons.

Van Aanholt is also an experienced operator and has failed to agree a new Palace contract.

He has continued to be used regularly by Roy Hodgson and has started 17 Premier League matches this season.
