Sampdoria have reportedly made an offer to take Mario Balotelli away from Liverpool for good - and Reds fans have broken out in a collective hallelujah.

The Italian striker is not the most popular figure at Anfield after a dismal first season at Liverpool after just four goals in all competitions.

Balotelli was quickly shipped out to AC Milan on loan last season, but has returned to Liverpool after an equaling underwhelming campaign in Serie A.

Pictures of him training under Jurgen Klopp had Liverpool fans fearing the worst, mostly because it seemed no one on this earth wanted to sign him, but Sampdoria have now confirmed they want to acquire the maverick.

The consensus from the Liverpool world: praise Jesus.

Liverpool and Balotelli are currently preparing for the club's pre-season tour of American later this month and the striker could get a run out in Friday's friendly with Tranmere.
