Liverpool rising star Rafael Camacho has agreed personal terms with Sporting Lisbon as he closes in on a transfer worth up to £10million, Football Insider understands.

The versatile attacker, 19, has attracted interest from clubs in England, Germany, France and Portugal after deciding to quit Anfield this summer.

A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that Sporting are now poised to beat Wolves and other rivals including RB Leipzig to the signature of Camacho following extensive negotiations with the player and the Champions League holders.

The Portugese outfit have offered Camacho a five-year contract that will include a significant pay rise and he has decided to accept it and head back to his homeland.

Wolves were hopeful their strong Portugese presence and a manager in Nuno Espirito Santo who also hails from the country would enable them to edge the deal.

The teenager, capped by Portugal at Under-20 level, is keen to ignite his career as an attacker after expressing his unhappiness on social media at playing right-back in his two senior Liverpool appearances earlier this year.

He has scored and created goals prolifically at youth-team level for Liverpool, netting 12 times and providing eights assists from 20 appearances in 2018-19.

Camacho came close to joining Sporting Lisbon on loan in January but, as revealed by Football Insider, Klopp blocked the transfer because he wanted him to stay in the first team squad.
