West Brom are putting the finishing touches to the capture of Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki today and also hope to add Newcastle United forward Christian Atsu by tomorrow night, Football Insider understands.

Manager Slaven Bilic has made it his priority to strengthen his attack following the alarming slump that threatens the Baggies' automatic promotion hopes.

A West Brom source has told Football Insider that talks are advancing over the permanent signing of Grosicki, 31, after agreeing an £800,000 fee.

Atsu, 28, is also a firm target Bilic, as first revealed by Football Insider last night.

He has been a regular for Steve Bruce's side with 22 appearances in all competitions this season, but only eight of those have been as a starter.

The recent arrival of Valentino Lazaro on loan from Inter Milan will increase competition for places in attack, and Atsu would plummet further down the pecking order if Newcastle ambitious £20million bid for Jarrod Bowen succeeds.

The Ghana international has made 118 appearances for Newcastle since signing in 2017 after a successful loan spell at Chelsea.

West Brom slipped to second in the Championship on Tuesday night and are now only two points clear of third-placed Nottingham Forest.

The Baggies have failed to win any of their last seven Championship games and have picked up just three points from their last five games to leave the automatic promotion spot in danger.

In other West Brom news, it can be REVEALED that the club have ambushed Celtic with six-figure bid for big-earning star.
