Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye will undergo a medical at Turkish club Trabzonspor tomorrow after agreeing the terms of a loan-to-buy deal, Football Insider can reveal.

New Potters boss Michael O'Neill has given the green light for the Senegal international to leave as looks to reshape the squad at the Bet365 Stadium.

A Stoke source has told Football Insider that Trabzonspor have beaten Schalke and Mainz in the race to sign Ndiaye ahead of the January window.

He is set to fly out to Turkey to undergo a medical and complete a loan for the rest of the season.

The deal for the midfielder, who is one of Stoke's biggest earners, could then become permanent next summer.

Ndiaye spent last season on loan at Galatasaray and he impressed in Turkey as he helped the club win the Super Lig and Turkish club.

The midfielder has made 13 appearances in the Championship this season for Stoke, but he has only started one game since O'Neill replaced Nathan Jones as manager in November.

Ndiaye became Stoke City's third most expensive ever signing when he joined from Galatasaray for £14million last year.

He has struggled to live up to that transfer fee and made only 27 appearances for the club who were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

The writing has been on the wall for Ndiaye at Stoke in recent weeks and it has been noticeable that he's failed to make the matchday squad for the club's last two Championship fixtures.
