Chelsea goalscoring midfielder Kasey Palmer is undergoing a medical at Bristol City today as he puts the finishing touches to a transfer, Football Insider can reveal.

The 22-year-old is in advanced talks to re-sign for the Championship club after spending the second half of last season on loan at Ashton Gate.

Swansea City have also been credited with an interest in Palmer this summer, but a Bristol City source has told Football Insider the club are on the verge of bringing Palmer back to the club.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is happy to let Palmer move on this summer as he is well down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Former England Under-21 international Palmer spent last season on loan at Blackburn and Bristol City, making a combined 34 appearances for both sides.

Football Insider has previously reported that the Europa League holders value the London-born midfielder, who has another two years to run on his current contract, at around the £4million mark.

There has been interest from multiple clubs across England in Palmer, who has scored regularly during various Championship loans, as well as for England age-group sides and Chelsea Under-23s.
