Ahmed Musa is undergoing a West Brom medical as he puts the finishing touches to a free transfer, Football Insider understands.
The 23-year-old Nigerian forward has been without a club since leaving Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in October.
A recruitment source told Football Insider that the free agent has agreed terms with the Premier League strugglers.
There had been some confusion earlier in the week as Musa had been a no-show when expected to turn up for a trial with the Baggies.
But he has now arrived in the West Midlands ready to finalise a free transfer.
The 95-time Nigeria international is best known to English fans for his time with Leicester City.
The pacey winger played for the Foxes between 2016 and 2018, scoring five times in 33 appearances across all competitions.
After several successful seasons in the Nigerian National League at the outset of his career, Musa moved to Eredivisie side VVV-Venlo in 2011.
There he played 42 times, scoring 10 goals and registering 12 assists before he was signed by 17-time Russian Premier League winners CSKA Moscow in a £5million deal.
After five seasons, 184 appearances and 61 goals in Russia, Musa was snapped up by newly-crowned Premier League champions Leicester for a then-club record £16m.
