Newcastle United are planning to sell Callum Wilson if they can agree a deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin with Everton, sources have told Football Insider

Eddie Howe had initially planned to keep Wilson for next season, but his future is now up in the air as the deal for Calvert-Lewin is edging closer.

Sources say there is “huge interest” from some of Newcastle’s Premier League rivals in the 32-year-old after he’s proven himself to be a top striker over a number of years.

The north-east giants are looking to receive a fee in excess of £15million to allow Wilson to leave St James’ Park this summer.

The England international’s contract on Tyneside is set to expire in June 2025.

Callum Wilson could leave Newcastle as Dominic Calvert-Lewin deal close

The forward featured just six times in the Premier League this calendar year due to a chest injury, leaving Howe short of options in support of star man Alexander Isak.

But the potential signing of Calvert-Lewis has raised question marks over his future and the Tyneside club are now planning to sell him over the coming weeks if their valuation is met.

Everton

Premier League sides have shown an interest in securing Wilson's services after his nine league goals last season took him to 88 top-flight strikes in 221 appearances.

Reports have suggested West Ham have enquired about his availability as new boss Julen Lopetegui looks to strengthen his attacking options this summer.
