Perfect -Exclusive: Agbonlahor reacts as West Ham work on 8-figure Jan signing

West Ham will face a fight with other Premier League clubs if they try and sign Moussa Dembele or Josh King, according to Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, the former Aston Villa and England striker claimed a lot of top-flight clubs will be in the market for a top notch back-up striker.

This site revealed last month that West Ham have laid the groundwork to sign King for around £10million in January after failing to do a deal during the transfer window.

The Norway international has entered the final months of his contract and could be available for less than £10million.

Meanwhile, the Sun report the Hammers are also interested in Lyon forward Dembele who is growing frustrated by his lack of game time.

"West Ham need another striker," Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

"Michail Antonio will get injuries so they need a better backup striker than Sebastien Haller.

"We see a lot of clubs now that have decent backup strikers.

"For me, Josh King, Moussa Dembele they are the type of players that Premier League clubs are going to be looking at to try and bring in.

"I'm sure West Ham will be looking for one of them because they've all got pace, that's what you need in the Premier League as a striker, you need to have that threat in behind and all three of them would suit a Premier League club."

Former Celtic ace Dembele has started half of Lyon's game this season and is yet to score.

Since his move from Parkhead in 2018, the 24-year-old has found the net 44 times in 102 appearances for the French side.
