Premier League midfield ace next most likely Celtic signing – Football Whispers
Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur is the next most likely signing for Celtic, according to transfer experts Football Whispers.
They claim that McArthur – a boyhood Rangers fan – who is reported to be on £50k-a-week at Palace, is likely to make the switch despite making 33 league appearances this season, where he scored five goals.
The 30-year-old was also said to be interesting Rangers, with the Daily Mail reporting interest from Ibrox as well as Cardiff.
Football Whispers is a global transfer site that evaluates all the information on all the deals involving major clubs.
It rates each deal with a score out of five – the higher the score the more likely the deal is to go through.
McArthur is currently rated at 3.4/5, with the next player on the list being Stoke's Joe Allen at just 2.9/5.

This seems an odd one. McArthur had a good season for Palace and is on a massive salary. He's a Rangers fan too, so why would he move north of the border and presumably take a pay cut to join Celtic? There are loads of rumours flying around this summer, but this one seems unlikely. However, Football Whispers is a reputable site and McArthur sits on top of their Celtic rankings at the moment. There's no smoke without fire but we can't see this one happening.
