Reliable journalist: Aston Villa in advanced talks for international attacker, terms reportedly agreed

Aston Villa are in advanced talks in their bid to bring out of favour West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass in on loan, according to a reliable journalist. 

They still haven't got it their own way, with Sunderland and Birmingham still pushing to do the deal, but Villa are said to be "closest".

The news was released by Keith Downie, a Sky Sports journalist, on his official Twitter account.

It follows on from a report in Teamtallk, which claimed that the club had agreed personal terms with Snodgrass.

Football Insider sources broke the news yesterday that Aston Villa were leading the race for the Scottish international winger.

He only joined West Ham in January in a deal worth close to £11million, but he is deemed surplus to requirements at the London Stadium and is set to be moved on.

It looks like his new home will be at Villa park, under former manager Steve Bruce, who he played for at Hull.

Bruce will be hoping to recapture the form Snodgrass showed at Hull, where the winger scored 14 goals in 56 appearances, adding 10 assists.

Snodgrass only managed 15 appearances at West Ham and didn't score a goal.
