Leicester City defender Callum Elder is poised to join Hull City, Football Insider understands.

Hull have been tracking Elder for some time and Tigers boss Grant McCann is keen to strengthen his options at left-back.

Elder has come through the youth ranks at Leicester, but never made a first-team appearance for the Foxes.

The 24-year-old has spent the majority of his time at Leicester out on loan at Mansfield Town, Peterborough United, Brentford, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic and Ipswich Town where he has made over 130 appearances.

Last season he made four Championship appearances for Ipswich but played more in the Premier League 2.

A source close to Leicester has told Football Insider that the club is happy to let the Australian move on a permanent basis to Hull in a bid to kick-start his career by playing regular first-team football.
