Paul Robinson has heaped praise on West Ham manager David Moyes as the club set their sights on Preston North End sensation Lewis Leigh.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Leeds goalkeeper cited the signings of Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma when lauding Moyes' knowledge of the Championship market.

There is strong interest in the centre-midfielder from a number of top-flight clubs including Everton.

Leigh has three years remaining on the professional contract he penned at Deepdale last month.

When asked by Football Insider's Dylan Childs for his thoughts on the Hammers' interest, Robinson said: "Moyes' recruitment policy is brilliant.

"He has a great football brain. He is a football man. Time and time again he has prove that he can spot a player.

"When you look at the players he has got out of the Championship, the likes of Bowen and Benrahma, you can see that it is a market he knows well. You have to trust him because he has an excellent eye for a player.

West Ham

"Moyes makes player better in a similar way to Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds. He spots a player, brings them in and makes them better.

"He is a coach as well as a manager. That is what he does with these players and Lewis Leigh could be the next one."
