Aston Villa will accept a cut-price offer for midfielder Morgan Sanson this summer, Football Insider understands.

The 28-year-old has failed to win over Unai Emery and was loaned to Strasbourg in January.

He has been a regular starter at the Ligue 1 club with nine starts in their last 10 league matches but that won't secure him a first-team future at Villa.

The Midlands giants are planning to let Sanson go among many of their first-team stars who are deemed surplus to requirements.

Sanson has failed to make an impact at the club since joining from Marseille in January 2021 for a fee of £15.5million including add-ons.

He was said at that point to be very difficult to manage, and proved to be so much trouble for two of his former agents that they decided to let him go.

Little has happened since then to convince Villa chiefs that it has been money well spent.

Since joining Villa, Sanson has only managed to make a total of 23 appearances for the club, with his only goal coming in a 2-1 FA Cup loss to Stevenage in January.

Sanson has two years remaining on his Villa contract after signing a four-and-a-half-year deal in 2021, but the Premier League outfit have no intention of reaching the end of that agreement.
