Blackpool have signed Rochdale forward Jake Beesley for a six-figure fee, Football Insider understands.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Beesley finalised his move to Blackpool over the weekend.

He completed a medical at Bloomfield Road and put pen to paper on a contract.

The transfer is set to be announced soon.

Beesley joins Rochdale after finding sensational form, scooping the League Two Player of the Month award for December after netting four goals and assisting another across three games last month.

Those goals took his tally to 12 in all competitions for the season.

The Sheffield-born attacker started his career with Chesterfield but made just 11 appearances for the Spireites before moving to Salford City.

After struggling for first-team action and was shipped out on loan to Boston United, Bradford Park Avenue, and Solihull Moors.

A move to Rochdale followed in September 2020 and he chipped in with six goals and one assist in 30 games during his debut season.

Beesley leaves the Greater Manchester club after scoring 19 goals in 59 outings.

As it stands, Blackpool sit 12th in the championship after a run of good form pulled them even further away from the relegation zone.

However, they were knocked out of the FA Cup by League Two Hartlepool United on Saturday (8 January).
