Blackpool are in advanced talks to sign Bradford winger Sean Scannell, Football Insider understands.

Tangerines boss Simon Grayson is keen to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window closes next week and he has identified Scannell as a top target.

A Blackpool source has told Football Insider the club are hopeful of finalising a deal for the 28-year-old inside the next 24 hours as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for promotion from League One.

Grayson is a big admirer of Scannell having worked with the versatile attacker during his time in charge of Huddersfield Town.

Scannell joined Bradford from Huddersfield last summer, but he has saw his time at Valley Parade interrupted by injuries.

The former Crystal Palace man has jumped at the chance to leave League Two to move up a division and be reunited with Grayson.

Capped by Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level, Scannell has an impressive record in the Football League, accumulating 306 appearances in the Championship.
