Leeds United are set to appoint Daniel Farke as their new manager in the next hours, sources have told Football Insider.

The German, 46, has a full agreement with United and is set to be appointed to take charge of the club's pre-season programme that begins on Monday

Football Insider first broke the news on 29th June that Farke was to take over from interim Sam Allardyce.

He is expected to link up at Elland Road with his former Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber when his notice period has been completed at Carrow Road.

The Canaries announced Webber is leaving the club soon after Football Insider exclusively revealed he was in advanced talks to join Leeds.

Farke and Webber have been targeted by the Yorkshire giants as a result of their proven track record in overseeing Championship promotion.

The duo were both hired by Norwich in 2017 as the Canaries looked to mount a promotion push, but their first season saw the club finish 14th in the Championship.

However, Farke did lead Norwich to promotion during his second season in charge in 2017-18, with new signing Teemu Pukki topping the scoring charts with 30 goals.

Webber and Farke were unable to achieve Premier League survival in 2019-20, but bounced straight back to the top flight with a second promotion in 2020-21.

Farke was subsequently named the EFL Championship Manager of the Season.

But once again, the German was unable to steer Norwich clear of relegation and he was sacked in November 2021 with a win rate of 41.8 per cent.

Webber continued at Carrow Road but faced protests from Norwich fans before deciding to step down from his role earlier this summer.
