Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are keen to add another midfielder as well as a centre-back to complete their summer business, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseysiders have already completed deals for midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (3 July) that Liverpool will now turn their attention to signing a centre-back.

It is believed Wolfsburg's Micky van de Ven and Sporting CP star Goncalo Inacio are on the shortlist for Klopp's side.

However, Josko Gvardiol will not be making the move to Anfield as he closes in on a big-money move to treble-winning Man City.

Meanwhile, another central midfielder has been placed high on the list of priorities for Liverpool's recruitment staff.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (3 July) that Liverpool are continuing talks with Southampton over a deal for Romeo Lavia, 19, and are now ready to submit a bid.

The Reds are willing to offer around £40million for the midfielder but the south coast club are believed to be holding out for a figure closer to the £50million mark.

France Under-21 duo Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone are also on the Merseysiders' radar.

Liverpool are keen to add more options to their midfield after losing several players at the end of their contracts.

Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all sealed Anfield exits this summer.

Fabio Carvalho, 20, has sealed a season-long loan move to Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig - further depleting Klopp's midfield.
