Romelu Lukaku is set to undergo a Chelsea medical today as he completes a £97.5million move from Inter Milan, Football Insider has learned.

The striker, 28, is heading to London to put the finishing touches to a five-year contract after the Blues reached an agreement on the fee.

A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that Lukaku will become their club-record signing after Roman Abramovich gave the green light to the deal.

The Blues have given permission for Tammy Abraham to leave to free up space for their headline summer arrival.

Abraham, 23, is wanted by multiple clubs in England and across Europe with Atalanta the latest to hold talks over a deal.

The striker fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge following the appointment of Thomas Tuchel.

He was left out of the matchday squad for both of last season's FA Cup final defeat against Leicester and the Champions League final triumph against Manchester City.

Despite this, Abraham finished the season as the Blues’ joint-top goalscorer with Timo Werner after scoring 12 goals in all competitions.

Should Lukaku complete his move, he will lead the line as Chelsea look to challenge for more silverware this season.

Lukaku has become a different beast at Inter Milan, scoring 64 goals in 95 outings.

He is set to return to the Premier League looking to climb the all-time goalscoring chart where he currently sits 20th.

Tuchel will want to defend his Champions League title and run a closer title race in the Premier League.

The Blues start their league campaign with an away trip to Crystal Palace next weekend.
