Ajax are in advanced talks to sign West Ham striker Sebastien Haller for £20million, Football Insider has learned.

The 2019 Champions League semi-finalists have tabled multiple bids for the front man after being encouragement the Londoners are willing to sell the front man.

A West Ham source has told Football Insider that Ajax have offered up to £20m and that is expected to be enough to seal a deal in the January window.

Ajax have booked Haller in for a medical and a deal could be finalised by the end of this week.

It would represent a huge and humiliating loss for the Hammers.

They signed Haller for a club-record £45million in 2019, although that fee was made up of staggered payments.

It is believed the full cost of the fee has not been made to his former club Eintracht Frankfurt and he is effectively being sold to meet that commitment.

Manager David Moyes regards Haller as expendable, just as he did the club's second-most expensive signing Felipe Anderson, who joined Porto on loan in the last window.

The towering striker has struggled to adapt to the pace of English football and is prepared to make the switch to Ajax.

West Ham are likely to turn their attention to securing a replacement for Haller once a deal is finalised.

The Ivory Coast international has struggled to make an impact in his 18 months at the club and that has continued during main man Michail Antonio's recent prolonged absence.

Haller has scored just 10 goals in 48 Premier League appearances and, across all competitions, his 53 matches have yielded 14 goals.
