Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio has agreed personal terms with Roma, Football Insider understands.

The Portugal international, 33, is closing in on a permanent move to the Italian club.

A source has told Football Insider Patricio has accepted Roma’s offer of a three-year contract as part of a transfer that will see him link up with the club’s new boss Jose Mourinho.

The Serie A outfit are negotiating the fee and structure of the deal with Wolves.

A full agreement is not yet in place but all parties are confident the transfer will be finalised.

Patricio has barely missed a match during his three years at Molineux and has started 112 of their 114 Premier League games since promotion.

He has kept 31 clean sheets in that time and was a key member of the side that reached the 2019-20 Europa League quarter-finals.

New Wolves boss Bruno Lage is understood to be a huge admirer of Sa.

The 28-year-old narrowly missed out on Portugal's squad for this summer's European Championships while Patricio is the country's number one.

Sa is a league champion with Olympiakos and has Champions League experience under his belt.

The stopper has kept an impressive 62 clean sheets in 124 appearances for the Greek side, including 11 shutouts in 34 European games.
