Wolves could accept a cut-price fee for defender Conor Coady this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Blades’ interest comes after the Merseysiders confirmed they have chosen not to activate their reported £4.5million option to sign Coady permanently.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Wolves could be open to offers below that figure in the upcoming transfer window.

Sheffield United are keen to add to their squad following promotion to the Premier League and have targetted players with top-flight experience.

However, it is believed any moves will be put on hold until a resolution in the Blades' takeover saga.
