Norwich defender Russell Martin has been spotted at Glasgow Airport after jetting into Scotland to finalise his switch to Rangers, according to a report. The

claims that Martin, 32, landed in Scotland on Tuesday morning and will undergo a medical in the coming hours to make his loan move to Ibrox official.

It is understood that Norwich and Rangers have agreed terms foe the the Scotland international to move to the Scottish Premiership side on loan for the rest of the season, making him Graeme Murty's fourth signing of the January transfer window after Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Jason Cummings. Declan John also had his loan deal turned into a permanent one from Cardiff earlier this month. Martin has fell out of favour at Norwich and now looks to be ready to get back to action with Rangers ahead of their Scottish Cup clash with Fraserburgh next week.

Football Insider verdict

Rangers fans have been happy with the signings Murty has made this month but there has been some contempt about Martin's link to Ibrox. Although the fanbase is split on the Scotland defender, it now appears that he just hours away from being announced as a Gers - until the end of the season at least. Martin will be a very solid addition to Rangers' backline and is a clear improvement on the likes of Danny Wilson, David Bates and Fabio Cardoso. His move to Ibrox may spell the end for one of them but most likely it could see Bruno Alves leave if he drops down the pecking order.
