Report: Tottenham hope to agree three new deals, a fourth is already in place

Tottenham are hopeful of securing four key players to new contracts despite slow progress in negotiations, according to a report.

The Telegraph claim the London giants are confident of tying Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Erik Lamela and Eric Dier to fresh deals.

It is said Dier has already agreed the terms of a £70,000-a-week, five-year agreement that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2021.

The Telegraph do not report a breakthrough in negotiations with the other three regulars, who all have two years remaining on the current contracts.

Spurs have been in talks with the senior men for many months about deals to keep them at White Hart Lane.

The Mirror claimed on Friday night that Eriksen has reached a contract stalemate with the north London club due to his astonishing £150,000-a-week wage demands.

It is said that Eriksen's representatives are playing hardball with Tottenham by insisting on a deal that would double the wages of the club's existing top earner Hugo Lloris.

The Denmark international's deal is worth £32,000-a-week contract and he is holding out for a 370 per cent pay rise that would hand him deal worth five times his current package.

The stalemate has alerted long-term admirers Juventus, who have been watching developments, while Inter Milan are also said to be interested.

Juventus have received £89million from Manchester United for star-man Paul Pogba this week and they could use their new wealth to poach the Tottenham star.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy operates a tight wage structure and it is believed that the club are unlikely to be willing to go close to what Eriksen's advisers are demanding.
