Tottenham Hotspur will continue to try and sign another central midfielder during this transfer window, despite bringing in Archie Gray from Leeds United.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Premier League side will look to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s options in the middle of the park.

Spurs have been focusing on strengthening this area of the team since last summer, and the signing of versatile midfielder Gray certainly helps that.

However, Tottenham could be set to lose a midfielder this summer as Football Insider revealed that Pierre-Emile Hojberg is expected to depart the club this summer.

The Danish international hired a new agent to help push the move with Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund interested in him, according to sources.

His departure will incentivise Spurs to strengthen in the summer, but one player who isn’t expected to be joining is Conor Gallagher.

Tottenham are set to miss out on the Chelsea midfielder

Spurs have kept tabs on Gallagher for a long time and have attempted to sign him for Postecoglou since last summer.

Sources have revealed it is now unlikely that Gallagher will leave Stamford Bridge this summer as Chelsea have done their transfer business to help with profit and sustainability.

Gallagher has made it clear he would like to stay at Chelsea, but contract talks between the player and the club have stalled.

The England international became a regular for the Blues last season, featuring 50 times in all competitions.

Tottenham might not be able to secure Gallagher in this window, but the club are interested in another former Chelsea player.

Football Insider revealed that Spurs have been tracking Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, but he’s said to be happy at his current club.
