Trent Alexander-Arnold is very keen to extend his Liverpool contract and sign a mega deal as negotiations are lined up ahead of the summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Now, it is believed that the full-back and the club are very eager to sit down and hold talks to extend his time at the club.

The England international has recently been linked with a sensational move to La Liga side Real Madrid.

However, sources have told Football Insider that while Alexander-Arnold is flattered by links with the European giants, he has made staying at his boyhood club his number-one priority,

Alexander-Arnold joined the Reds aged six and his current contract, which reportedly earns him £180,000-a-week, is set to expire in the summer of 2025.

It is believed that Michael Edwards' return to the club as FSG's new CEO of football and Richard Hughes' arrival as the new sporting director this summer will pave the way for the defender to pen a new deal.

He is still out injured with a knee injury he picked up against Burnley last month (10 February) but is reportedly set for a return to training in the next two weeks.
