Rangers will be in the market for new signings again this summer after a season that has failed to live up to expectations.

With major doubts over the future of Alfredo Morelos as well as the possibility that on-loan Jermaine Defoe will return to parent club Bournemouth, the Light Blues are almost certain to be in the market for major attacking reinforcements.

Centre-forwards who are inexpensive, available and can potentially score 20-goals a-season at a club where expectation is never less than immense are not easy to source.

One potential answer could be on the other side of Glasgow: Timothy Weah.

The 19-year-old striker joined Celtic on loan in January from Paris Saint-Germain and has made a big impression without quite nailing down a starting position.

Weah has scored three times in 12 matches and demonstrated an eye for goal as well as the extreme pace and impressive movement that makes him a real handful for defenders.

He is bursting with potential but is unlikely to be too chuffed at having started just two SPL matches since his arrival and is almost certain to return to Paris at the end of the campaign.

That opens the door for Rangers to make a loan swoop for a player who has grown accustomed to life in the Glasgow fish bowl as well as the peculiarities and physicality of the league.

Weah is young, exciting and will only get better with more exposure to top-level football.

He would be a brilliant signing for Rangers and could solve their striker requirements in a stroke.
