Traore tipped to sign new Wolves deal after Mendes reveal - pundit

Danny Mills has tipped Adama Traore to sign a new Wolves contract if it includes a release clause.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender suggested Traore could be worth £80million next summer if he re-finds his best form.

Football Insider revealed on 30 August the powerful winger hired Jorge Mendes to help secure a summer move to Tottenham.

However, the superagent was not able to reunite Traore with Nuno Espirito Santo and he stayed at Molineux.

The Sun reported on September 4 the Midlands club want to secure the 25-year-old to a new four-year contract with his current deal set to expire in 2023.

It is claimed a release clause could be inserted into a new deal worth around £60million.

Asked whether that could make Traore sign a new deal, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I’d say so.

“You just don’t know what sort of season he’s going to have. You don’t know what kind of season he’s going to have.

“He could be off the charts and worth £80million. Or, he could be worth £30million.

“He’s got all of the potential, he’s just got to deliver it again on a consistent basis which is what he struggled with last season. He’s got all the attributes.

“Wolves are probably thinking ‘We’ll give him a new contract just to protect our position as much as anything’.”

Traore has scored 10 times and provided 18 assists in 135 games across all competitions for Wolves.

The Spain international has not found the net this term as Bruno Lage’s side remain goalless.
