Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe could shine at Aston Villa in a third spell next season.

That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Midlands club's interest in the 23-year-old ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Tuanzebe has appeared in 15 games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season but only six of those have been starts.

Dean Smith’s side are in the market for a new centre-back to replace Bjorn Engels, who is set to be sold in the upcoming window.

Robinson believes Tuanzebe would reach new heights in a third spell at Villa Park under the coaching and guidance of former Chelsea and England captain John Terry.

"I think Dean Smith would preferably sign someone with more Premier League experience because Tuanzebe has not had much game time at United," he told Football Insider's Dylan Childs.

"Perhaps Smith sees him as a player that could develop under John Terry's guidance. There's not many out there better to learn off in that respect. Terry could really improve him.

"He could have a big influence on him on the training ground. In that sense it is one that I could see that move happening."

Villa are also keen on the likes of Burnley winger Dwight McNeil and Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
