West Brom can land £30m windfall after Ismael update via BBC - Campbell

West Brom can raise £30million from the sale of Matheus Pereira and Sam Johnstone this summer, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Albion and Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Valerien Ismael has likely been told “he has to sell in order to buy”.

Speaking to the BBC on 6th July, Ismael revealed that he ‘expects’ both Pereira and Johnstone to leave The Hawthorns in this transfer window after discussions with both players.

Johnstone’s contract expires in the summer of 2022, while Pereira has three years left to run on his current deal.

Campbell suggested Albion will have no problem selling the pair of “top players”.

“I think Ismael has been told that he has to sell in order to buy and he will want to put his own stamp on that squad,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“If they can get £30million for the pair of them then I think they have done really well. It is achievable as well because they are both top players.

“Teams know that West Brom are not in a strong position after being relegated. Clubs know that they need to sell.

“I think think they will get decent offers though because Johnstone and Pereira are very decent players. Ismael needs money to be able to move and shake.”

Pereira was the Baggies standout outfield player, with his 33 Premier League appearances yielding 11 goals and six assists.
