West Brom favourite tips Sean Dyche appointment after clause news - 'for sure'

Kevin Campbell has backed West Brom to be among the many clubs looking to appoint former Burnley boss Sean Dyche this summer.

The former Baggies striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Premier League strugglers Watford will be at the front of the queue for the 50-year-old in the off-season.

According to The Sun (via BirminghamLive, 17 April), West Brom could move for Dyche this summer – with Stoke City also placing the former Chesterfield ace on their “wanted list”.

Steve Bruce, the incumbent at The Hawthorns, has failed to meet expectations since succeeding Valerien Ismael in February.

According to The Telegraph (4 February), West Brom have the option to terminate Bruce this summer via a break clause in his contract.

Campbell insisted he can see the Baggies being in the race to secure Dyche.

He told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “You can see it happening, can’t you?

“I’m sure Watford will be in for him this summer as well – he used to play there, of course.

“I could see it happening, for sure. I think Dyche will be a very sought-after manager this summer, it won’t just be West Brom.

“There’ll be a lot of clubs looking at him as post-season starts up.”

West Brom sit 12th in the Championship – having been relegated from the top flight just last season.

Dyche won the second-tier with Burnley during the 2015-16 season – and had preserved their Premier League status ever since.
