Exclusive: West Brom open talks to sign Sheffield United player

West Bromwich Albion are in talks to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Simon Moore, Football Insider sources understands.
The Midlands giants are in the market for a new shot-stopper after allowing Ben Foster and Boaz Myhill to leave the club this summer and Moore figures highly on their wanted list.
The Baggies have already brought in Sam Johnstone from Manchester United to be the club’s new No.1, but a well-placed source has told Football Insider they plan to bring in Moore to act as cover and competition for Johnstone.
Moore has found himself drop down the pecking order at Sheffield United in the last 12 months with the keeper making just 15 starts in all competitions last season following the arrival of Jamal Blackman on loan from Chelsea.
The loan signing of Dean Henderson from Manchester United this summer is set to make his first-team opportunities limited next season and the player is ready to move for a new challenge.

The former Cardiff and Brentford goalkeeper is entering the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane and West Brom are in talks with Sheffield United over a deal for the 28-year-old shot-stopper.
