Agbonlahor stunned by West Brom manager latest amid update today
West Brom need to “get their act together” and appoint a manager “as soon as possible”, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed a new manager needs to be in place before pre-season begins imminently.
Football Insider learned earlier this week (16 June) West Brom have no plans to replace outgoing director of football Luke Dowling.
Instead, they want to appoint a “traditional” manager who can work with the recruitment team on transfers.
The Baggies have been managerless since Sam Allardyce left the club at the end of last season.
The Telegraph’s John Percy reported today (18 June) they are in talks with Barnsley as they want Valérien Ismaël as their new boss.

Asked whether it was worrying for West Brom they had still not appointed a manager, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “This is the sort of time now, mid-June, pre-season starts in a couple of weeks.
“These players are going to come back and there might not be a new manager and they’ll be a lot of teams like that. It’s strange and I can’t believe it.
“West Brom need to get their act together, get it done and get somebody in place in the board and a new manager as soon as possible.
“They need to bring in new players and get rid of those they don’t want. There’s a lot that needs doing.”
West Brom are preparing for life in the Championship after suffering relegation from the Premier League.
They have had five permanent managers in the five years Lai Guochuan has owned the club.
