West Brom are keeping tabs on Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham ahead of January, Football Insider understands.

The French midfielder is one of up to four Hoops stars who may potentially leave Parkhead in the upcoming window for big money to raise much-needed cash.

That has opened the door for Ntcham’s suitors, who included West Brom and Southampton as well as Marseille and Lyon ahead of the transfer window that shut on 5 October.

A West Brom source has told Football Insider the club retain an interest in the French playmaker and are monitoring his stuation.

Southampton have a longstanding interest in the player and also have the advantage of regular trading in recent years with Celtic, with Mohammed Elyounoussi on loan for the season at Parkhead.

The Saints can use the Scottish giants’ interest in signing Elyounoussi as leverage for Ntcham but it remains to be seen if they will push hard for him in January after a fine start to the season.

Central midfield has been identified as pivotal by West Brom ahead of January after a difficult return to the Premier League.

Ntcham was used almost solely in central midfield alongside Scott Brown at Celtic in his first season and has subsequently played in more advanced positions.

Football Insider revealed earlier this year that the Scottish champions value Ntcham at around £12million, nearly three times what they paid for him in 2017, but the price is set to drop going into January.

The former France Under-21 international has 18 months remaining on his Hoops contract.

Ntcham has made 144 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops, scoring 24 goals and supplying 13 assists.
