David Sullivan shares how many players West Ham will buy in the January window

David Sullivan has reassured fans that West Ham will sign two or three players in the January transfer window as they battle relegation.

Speaking in the matchday programme for the game against Arsenal, as quoted by the Evening Standard, Sullivan made the club’s transfer plans for the next window clear.

“David (Moyes) is still weighing up the areas we are short in but you can be rest assured two or three players will be brought in to improve the team,” said Sullivan.

Moyes’ priority is expected to be a defensive midfielder, but the Hammers have been recently linked to attacking players such as Aleksandar Mitrovic and Moussa Dembele.

The Hammers are among the lowest scorers in the league, only scoring 14 goals in 16 games.

West Ham are 19th ahead of playing the Gunners on Wednesday, and a win will move them out of the relegation zone.

Moyes achieved his first victory as Hammers boss in his last outing, defeating Chelsea 1-0.

West Ham face a hard task of making it two wins in a row, as Arsenal aim to not make it three league games without win.

The Gunners haven’t gone that long without a league win since April, and last season they emphatically beat the Hammers in both meetings.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have reached an agreement to sign this Premier League enforcer.
