West Ham: Daniel Kretinsky and David Sullivan ready to take club down to miserable depths

West Ham United fans could be in for continued disappointment as Nuno Espirito Santo’s future remains in the balance.

According to The Guardian on 26 May, Daniel Kretinsky and David Sullivan can’t see eye to eye over the Portuguese manager’s situation at the Hammers.

The news outlet reports that while the Czech billionaire wants Nuno to stay, the Irons’ English chairman isn’t sure about him.

Kretinsky and Sullivan are poised to buy a portion of the Gold family’s 25.1 per cent stake at the East London club, with the Czech national looking to match the Englishman’s control of the club, leaving them to share power in the boardroom.

Even if Nuno were to stay at the London Stadium, the apparent battle of egos between the largest and the second-largest shareholders in E20 doesn’t bode well.

West Ham fans have had their say on Nuno Espirito Santo

Nuno replaced Graham Potter midway through the season and had a monumental task to save the Hammers from the drop.

While the Portuguese manager did improve the Irons’ form after the turn of the year, it wasn’t enough, with his decision-making and team selection baffling supporters in E20.

Nuno’s record as West Ham manager

The former Nottingham Forest boss has lost the backing of a large section of the fanbase at the London Stadium and it would be best for him to leave.

With Kretinsky and Sullivan clearly involved in a power struggle, it feels like they’re ready to take the East London club down to miserable depths for their own ends.

David Sullivan shamelessness on full show at London Stadium

Football Insider transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke suggested on 23 May that Manchester United could have Jarrod Bowen on their radar ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

West Ham risk a mass exodus of first-team superstars after being relegated to the Championship, yet Sullivan and Kretinsky can’t stop their bickering.

The Hammers chief also failed to take any accountability for how the season has unfolded, with the club’s recent statement devoid of any soul-searching.

All Sullivan is good at is hiding from supporters and avoiding answering any questions over the direction the East London club are going in and fans in E20 can’t wait to see the back of him.
