Origi is 'perfect' for West Ham after source's update on new Liverpool asking price - Agbonlahor
Divock Origi would make a “perfect” signing for West Ham as he will happily play second fiddle to Michail Antonio.
So says ex-Premier League goalscorer Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 26-year-old Liverpool hitman.
This site revealed on 7 August that the Hammers have opened preliminary talks to sign the Belgian.
The Merseysiders initially wanted £20m-plus for Origi but a Hammers source has told Football Insider than the price has now been slashed and £15m could seal a deal.
Origi has three years remaining on the contract he signed in 2019 but his future at Anfield is up in the air.
West Ham meanwhile are in the market for a centre-forward as Antonio, 31, remains their only option up front.

And Origi’s willingness to play the super-sub role makes him the ideal backup option, insists Agbonlahor.
“I think he’s exactly what they need,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“They are desperate for another striker. They only have Antonio, and he gets quite a few injuries.
“Someone like Origi can be the perfect backup. You can bring him on in a game or you can start him if Antonio gets injured.
“He is a threat, definitely. Is he the striker that is going to fire you into the top six next season? Maybe not.
“But for £13m, you don’t know what West Ham’s budget is. So it could be really good business.
“He’ll do a good job for them. He’s not gonna moan about being on the bench so it suits both the player and the club.”
