Julen Lopetegui's future at West Ham could be decided by the fans at the London Stadium, according to the club's former scout.

Mick Brown, who worked as a senior scout until leaving alongside David Moyes in June and remains well-connected at the club, exclusively told Football Insider that pressure on the board could force them to make a decision.

Lopetegui's position has been under growing scrutiny after the Hammers' dismal start to the season, in which they have picked up just two wins from eight games.

Following a heavy 4-1 defeat to Tottenham away from home, fans are beginning to grow impatient as they await an upturn in results.

West Ham have kept just one clean sheet in the league so far and have suffered defeats by large margins against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City.

Despite having been backed heavily by the board in the summer transfer window, Lopetegui has yet to deliver the results expected of him.

As a result, the board are keen to see a quick return on their investment, or they could be pushed into making a decision about his immediate future in East London.

West Ham fans to force Julen Lopetegui sack decision

Now, the former Man United and Tottenham scout has insisted a decision will have to be made amid growing frustrations amongst the supporters at the London Stadium.

"Results have not been good enough, let's start there," he told Football Insider.

"West Ham have made so many bad decisions, but as yet have not paid for those decisions, but they might be seeing the consequences of that now.

"If they keep losing games in the way they do, questions will be asked.

"If they're the ones getting it in the neck from the supporters, they don't like the pressure. They're not very good at dealing with it.

"That's when these decisions tend to get made.

"We saw during Moysey's time at the club how much the fans can influence the decision.

"If they have 60,000 people all screaming for the same outcome, that's a lot of pressure.
