West Ham told their big ‘roll of the dice’ over signing has failed – Keith Wyness
West Ham United striker Pablo has failed to live up to his transfer fee since his arrival in the January window.
That is the view of former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who questions why West Ham paid over £20million for the 22-year-old.
Pablo arrived at the London Stadium from Portuguese club Gil Vicente having scored 10 goals during the first half of the season.
However, since his move to the Premier League, the Brazilian has failed to find the back of the net and West Ham now look on the brink of relegation to the Championship.
Pablo’s future at West Ham would be in doubt should the club suffer relegation on the final day of the season, with the Hammers needing to win and hope Tottenham lose to remain in the Premier League.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs- states that West Ham failed to bolster their strike force in January, and that is what could be sending the club down.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness is critical of West Ham signing Pablo, believing he should have produced more for his price tag.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s certainly one that, if signing Pablo was the big roll the dice to keep West Ham up, then that’s one area that hasn’t quite worked for them.
“Goals, as we know, are crucial. They got it right in defence when they took the Chelsea player on loan. That seems to have worked a bit better, shoring them up, but goals are crucial to stay up and Pablo has not done it, and it’s unfortunate.
“But the cost, compared to his appearances and his goal product, just doesn’t stack up in terms of that valuation.”
West Ham valuation on Jarrod Bowen revealed
West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen is likely to be pursued by a number of Premier League clubs this summer, if the Hammers suffer Premier League relegation.
The 29-year-old has been a crucial player for the London side this season, with eight goals and 10 assists in the Premier League.
Sources have told Football Insider that West Ham could sell Bowen for up to £30m this summer, with rivals Chelsea the latest team interested in the forward.
Everton have also been linked with a move, which could see Bowen reunite with former West Ham boss David Moyes on Merseyside.
