Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Frank McAvennie would like to see Harry Maguire at West Ham if he leaves Man United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hammers striker said the Irons could secure Maguire for "£30/£40million".

The 30-year-old's current contract at Old Trafford runs until 2025 after he joined from Leicester City in 2019 in a deal worth £80million.

The centre-back was a first team regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but has struggled for game time under Erik ten Hag.

Maguire has not started a Premier League game since February, but was included in the starting XI for United's 3-1 FA Cup win over Fulham on Sunday (19 March).

The defender was called up to Gareth Southgate's England squad for their upcoming Euro qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine this week.

McAvennie would be happy to see Maguire at the London Stadium.

"I would not mind him at West Ham," he told Football Insider.

"His England performances have been decent but his Man United performances have been awful. We could do with a centre-half as well.

"There will not be a shortage of clubs that want him and they will get him for £30/£40m."
