West Ham told to complete Harry Winks signing as £25m Tottenham deal agreed - pundit

Harry Winks has to quit Tottenham and join West Ham this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Winks is not going to play for Tottenham as they close in on the signing of Yves Bissouma.

A Spurs source told Football Insider on Wednesday (15 June) that they have agreed a £25million deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for Bissouma who is set to have a medical later this week.

Football Insider also reported last month (30 May) that the club have told Winks he is free to find a new club and they want a fee of around £20million.

And Agbonlahor has claimed West Ham would be a “perfect” fit for the 26-year-old who has to start playing regular football again.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He’s got to go.

“You look at Bissouma coming in. That means they’re going to have Hjojberg on the bench.

“Winks is never going to get a game. Sometimes you’ve got to leave for your own career. Go to another Premier League club and go and play some football.

“Maybe West Ham and go and play some football. At one time he was getting England call-ups and now he rarely plays.

“It would be the perfect fit.”

West Ham are in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer after Mark Noble’s retirement and Alex Kral returning to Spartak Moscow after his loan spell.

Winks, who has two years left on his Spurs contract, played 30 times across all competitions in 2021-22 season, including nine Premier League starts.

In other news, West Ham have made a move to sign an Everton star with 31 Premier League starts last season.
