Pablo Fornals responds to Jarrod Bowen announcement at West Ham
Jarrod Bowen has been lighting up the Championship as West Ham United attempt to win promotion back to the Premier League.
The 29-year-old winger already has eight goals and six assists in 14 games across all competitions, with 11 contributions coming in the league.
Everyone at the London Stadium was disappointed when Bowen saw his match-winning penalty saved against QPR at the beginning of the month.
He has since gone on to inspire back-to-back wins over Lincoln City and Swansea City, though, seeing the Hammers move to second in the table.
Automatic promotion is an absolute must at the London Stadium, and with Bowen on the winger, Nuno Espirito Santo's side should have no trouble.
October has not been nearly as impressive as his September performances, it must be said, and that has not gone unnoticed.
Jarrod Bowen shines in the Championship
West Ham faced Wolves, Derby County, Bolton Wanderers, Wrexham, Fulham and Millwall in the month of September.
Bowen notched four goals and two assists, helping his teammates to wins over Wolves, Bolton and Wrexham, while also featuring in the 3-0 win over the Rams.
Being lauded for his performances, West Ham announced (22 October): "Jarrod Bowen has been named PFA Fans' Player of the Month for September".
"Congratulation, Skipper!" with a clapping emoji, to which Konstantinos Mavropanos, Joel Veltmen and former Hammers fan favourite Pablo Fornals all liked.
The 30-year-old midfielder left West Ham in February 2024, but his heart clearly still remains in East London, as he keeps an eye on developments.
What are West Ham's chances of promotion?
West Ham have enjoyed a bright start to the 2026-27 campaign, but with Southampton up next, that will be a real challenge for Nuno's players.
Sitting just one point off the top of the Championship table, the expectation is that the Hammers will be back in the Premier League in no time.
Opta's supercomputer has predicted Nuno's side to finish top of the table on 85 points, with a 37.1 per cent chance of winning the title.
Their chances of promotion are rated at 58.68 per cent, whether that be automatic or via the play-offs. The former would be far less stressful.
