West Ham United favourite Freddie Potts has agreed a deal to join Club Brugge, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old went on Saturday to undergo a medical at the Belgian club after a £10.3million package was accepted.

The deal will bring an end to Potts' 17-year association with West Ham that began as a five-year-old.

Potts emerged as a first-team player last season and made 25 appearances in all competitions as the Hammers were relegated.

It was expected that his importance in the squad would rise in the Championship, with the youngster having previous success at Portsmouth on loan.

His imminent departure from the London Stadium this summer has prompted an angry reaction from club supporters.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have mainly overseen outgoings so far this transfer window, and have only signed one player to date.

West Ham United fans can’t understand Freddie Potts sale

Potts has been seen as a bright upcoming star at the London Stadium in recent seasons.

The midfielder has made numerous appearances for the first-team for years, and showed signs of his potential in the last campaign, despite the club’s relegation.

Therefore, when Sacha Tavolieri reported of his impending sale when his importance in the team should be about to reach an all-time high, fans were baffled.

Many were quick to take to X to complain about the sale, believing that the club is making a poor decision.

Are West Ham close to signing anyone this summer?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Arne Engels has agreed personal terms with West Ham this summer ahead of a potential move.

The Celtic star has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium in recent weeks, and the two clubs are now negotiating a potential fee.

The Hoops value the star at £25m after he played a key role in their domestic double last season.

Overall, the midfielder made 46 appearances in all competitions and scored seven goals.

Engels has attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs in recent months, including Nottingham Forest, who saw a £25m bid rejected for the midfielder in the recent winter window.

However, it remains to be seen if West Ham are able to win the race for the 22-year-old this summer, with plenty of twists and turns expected over the coming weeks.
