West Ham tipped to agree '£50m' Crysencio Summerville deal

Crysencio Summerville having a release clause would explain why West Ham United's asking price is so low this summer.

That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that he couldn't understand emerging reports before the 2026 World Cup kicked off.

Despite the Hammers being relegated from the Premier League, Summerville had a bright personal campaign, notching seven goals and three assists in 34 games.

Unsurprisingly, reports suggest that Nuno Espirito Santo's side must generate £100million in player sales after being relegated to the Championship.

While new majority owner Daniel Kretinsky argues against this, stars such as Summerville, Mateus Fernandes and Jarrod Bowen continue to be linked with big-money moves away from the London Stadium.

It was understood that less than £30m may have been accepted for Dutch winger this summer, but two World Cup goals later, and price could now skyrocket.

West Ham could earn £50m for Crysencio Summerville

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson suggested that £50m would be a more likely transfer fee for Summerville this summer, with plenty of interest in his signature.

"I didn't really understand why the value seemed so low. They got a good deal on him. Maybe he's got some kind of release clause in there," he said.

"I would think that given his age and profile [he could be sold for more], he had an okay season, but ultimately, they were relegated.

"And there are a number of players that fall into this category where they're throwing out very big prices for some of these West Ham players.

"Of course, if they were as good as the value suggests, then the club wouldn't have gone down. But, look, he's 25 in October. He's obviously a talented player. I think they'll get £50m for him from someone."

What are the bookmakers saying about Summerville's future?

Anyone with knowledge of the situation can see that Summerville is unlikely to be in a West Ham shirt next season, battling in the Championship again.

One major bookmaker would certainly agree, with the winger now less than evens to join Manchester United ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

PSG and Arsenal are up next at 4/1, with Tottenham Hotspur also a potential destination at 6/1, and Aston Villa priced at the same.

Unai Emery's side have been strongly linked with a move for the Hammers' No.7, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him stay in England at all.
