West Ham were 'ready to accept Jarrod Bowen offer'
West Ham United were open to accepting offers for Jarrod Bowen before he put pen to paper on a revised contract in East London.
The 29-year-old committed his immediate future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new agreement to dismiss any outside speculation about a potential move away.
In a message to the fans shared on social media, the England international clarified his intentions to lead the Hammers back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.
However, former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the club had been considering offers for Bowen before he made clear he had no plans to move on.
West Ham were open to raising funds through the player's sale, as they believed they could maximise profit despite suffering relegation to the Championship.
However, Bowen insisted he wanted to remain at the London Stadium and after a meeting with West Ham's minority owners, agreed to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Brown told Football Insider in April that Bowen had no plans to leave West Ham in the immediate future, but could reconsider his stance if they were relegated.
Following their drop out of the Premier League, the winger was believed to be weighing up his options, before ultimately putting pen to paper to commit his future to West Ham.
However, before his decision, the board had indicated they would listen to offers and placed a number of clubs on alert as they aimed to raise funds from his sale.
"It's going to be a huge boost for West Ham, holding on to Jarrod Bowen," Brown told Football Insider.
"He made it quite clear he did not intend to move on, he wants to lead West Ham back into the Premier League and so he's now decided to sign this new contract.
"It's positive for West Ham, because I'm told the board had considered selling him and were willing to listen to offers for him.
"If a big offer came in, I believe they would have been willing to let him go, because they'd want to maximise his value and sell while his stock is still high to raise funds.
"But Bowen made it very clear, he said he's spoken with the owners, and he wants to stay at West Ham regardless of any interest from elsewhere."
Which clubs were interested in singing Bowen?
Before he committed his future to West Ham, a number of Premier League rivals had been plotting moves to lure Bowen away as they aimed to capitalise on their relegation.
Football Insider revealed last month that Everton had opened preliminary talks to sign Bowen and had made contact with West Ham over the possibility of a move.
David Moyes is a big admirer of the winger after their time together at the London Stadium, and had hoped to lure him to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer.
However, Bowen quickly made it clear that his priority was to stay at West Ham, and having put pen to paper, is now focused on leading them back to the top flight.
