'Clown', 'Sour grapes' - Celtic fans blast Barry Ferguson for claim about win v Rangers

Celtic fans have reacted with fury on Twitter to comments made by former Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson about the recent Old Firm game at Ibrox, which the Hoops won 3-2.

Ferguson claimed in his column in the Daily Record that Brendan Rodgers’ side had been ‘lucky’ to win the game and that there wasn’t much between the teams on the pitch.

That sparked a reaction from former Hoops forward Chris Sutton, who claimed on his personal Twitter account that Ferguson was full of ‘baloney’.

Fans then replied to Sutton’s Tweet, agreeing with him and vehemently disagreeing with Ferguson’s comments.

The debate will no doubt continue on as the Old Firm are set to clash again twice in a week in April, in a Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden and a league game at Celtic Park.

Both teams are in action this weekend, with the Gers taking on in-form Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday, whilst the Hoops travel to Fir Park to take on Motherwell on Sunday.

The Bhoys currently hold a nine point lead – with a game in hand – over their bitter rivals and will be hoping to clinch their seventh consecutive league title sooner rather than later.
