Whelan blasts Richarlison agent as talks over 'big money' Everton exit reported
Noel Whelan has slammed Richarlison’s agent for being “disrespectful” to Everton amid reported talks with PSG.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Brazilian “needs to concentrate on football” despite his agent reportedly making contact with the French giants.
As reported by Eurosport (7th September), PSG are plotting a move to sign the Brazil international next year as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappe.
The player’s representatives reportedly held talks in Paris with the French giants over a potential move ahead of deadline day.
This is the second time in as many years that the Brazil international has been subject to mega-money interest.
In 2020, Everton reportedly rebuffed a bid from Barcelona in the region of £85m.

Whelan suggested Everton would again resist any “big-money” bid for the 24-year-old.
“Richarlison’s agent has been a very busy man,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“I’m sure Everton aren’t very impressed with his movements because he is under contract.
“It could be like the Barcelona scenario – PSG come in with an offer, and Everton say no.
“They’re trying to build a side which can become successful, and I’m sure Rafa Benitez doesn’t want to lose his star player – especially someone as hard to replace as Richarlison.
“PSG will test Everton’s resolve with big money.
“Right now, there’s too much talk coming from his agent. He needs to concentrate on football.
“I don’t think he will be going anywhere quickly.”
“These talks are a little bit disrespectful to the club if you ask me.”
Richarlison has three years left to run on his contract at Goodison Park.
The forward has netted 43 goals in 122 games since joining Everton from Watford in 2018.
